Hi Folks,
We hope you all
have had a very good summer! Ruth and I have had a good summer; we
were able to get a number of our summer goals accomplished, so that was
good.
We were excited
to see on the Sundowner summer break results, that our Cap stud dog had
made their top 10 list. Cap was number 10, and I doubt he will have time
to move up much this fall, but we were excited that he is doing that well
in his first full year in the Open Cattle Class. :)
We are excited
about Fall 2008, we are anxious to get to see old trial friends again.
We have a few new things in the works for the fall.
1. I hope to be
able to introduce three to four new females before years end.
2. We are very
excited to be able to announce a new fall trial here in Bartlesville. Oaktree
BC has teamed up with Washington County Junior Livestock folks to hold
their first FFA & 4H stock dog trial. (we hope folks will come and
support the kids)
3. I hope to be
able to have a new Sell Board up by the first of the year, (if not before
then.) It will be FREE to the general public where you'll be able to list
your working and trial dogs for sell. Be sure to always check our Blog
for the most real time information. (Oaktree
BC Bark Blog)
We kicked off
the 2008 late Summer and Fall trial season on a positive note. We took
4 dogs to a nice sheep trial last weekend, the Grady County Fair Sheepdog
Trial, hosted by Josh & Jenna Baxter. Jack was the only veteran
dog we took, the other were first time sheep trialers --- Roper's Jackson,
Head N' Heel Katie, Oaktree Beth. Jack was first place in the Open Ranch
Class, and Jackson and Katie tied for third place on points, but Jackson
had the faster time line, Beth was a DQ, being the youngest of the four
all she could see was mouth full wool. :)
