Taz is owned by Lynn & Shirley Daniel of Atoka, OK. and trained by Lynn.
There are two go-rounds to the Futurity, after the first "go" Taz was setting in first place. Their second "go" was going right on target to win first place, until they got to the last of the obstacles (loading in a stocktrailer), and the calves decided they weren't going in that dark hole. So Lynn & Taz dropped into second place, but Lynn promised that we would see much more of Taz.

We at Oaktree are very proud of both of them! Taz is the first son of our Hatsoff Cap stud to start in a cattle trial.

Our good friends Jim & Pam Hicks from Skiatook, Ok.
Their nice young female, "Tessie" was 6th place overall.

It was the first trial for the new OSDA, and it was a big success.
The rain held off for the most part. The trial was in an arena, and from previous rains
the arena was a sloppy mud bowl, but everyone just smiled and took it in stride.
It was our first sheep trial this year, so we were pretty happy with the
outcome of the dogs that we took! :)

Yancy Paul & Blake Byrum Cowdog Trial Lexington, Oklahoma -- Points/Time Excellent little trial, it was run very well, I would highly recommend it to anyone!!! The cattle were fresh, but worked very nice. We had a little drizzle (off/on), SW Oklahoma winds, and a lot of smiles and laughter by all in attendance. Ruth & Preacher entered their first Open (P/T) Cattle Trial ever. It started off with a 300 yard "blind outrun" which was also a first for them. A top Texas handler was on hand, and a number of Oklahoma top cattle dog handlers were also in the class, but Ruth & Preacher walked away with the first place check.

COTTONWOOD CROSSING COWDOG TRIAL
Hillsboro, Kansas.......The temperature was hot, the cattle were fresh,
and the hosts were wonderful!! ...... and fun was had by all!! :)

Ranch Sunday Ruth & Kelli -- First	Ranch Sunday Ruth & Preacher -- Third Preacher, True & Cap all tied for 3rd but Preacher had the best time line.	True worked really nice on Sunday --- for his first trial in 5 years. :)
Beginners --- Jim Hicks & Dot was 2^nd on Saturday.	Ranch Over All Winner --- Ruth & Cap Ruth & Kelli tied with another dog for 2nd & 3rd Over All.

We kicked off the 2007 trial season at the
February Sundowner Cattle Trial

CAP
February 17/18, Cap went to the post for his first cattle trial in a year
and a half, and came away with a 2^nd place finish.

Kelli places fourth, just missing 3^rd place by a whisker --- oh well, that's trialing.
